With Famiglia in Sardinia

Sardinia, Italy
October 2021

By Omri Rosengart

After two years that my father didn't see his granddaughter, and my brother, his son. He asked me if I would love to join him in Sardinia, where he lives.

I of course said yes, as family time has high importance to me.

We flew last October, and as a photographer, I was thrilled to visit again this beautiful island. All I brought was my film camera, Canon AE1 and 8 rolls.

I wanted to capture this small trip with film only.

The moment we got to Caligari, where my brother lives with his wife and baby girl, I recall myself falling in love with the local Italian-island tradition and its surrounding of the city.

Today tradition and history are important to maintain. I loved walking there with my father and brother through the old town: the colorful streets, local market (which we went to every morning to buy fresh food and fish), and visual admiration for how Italians have kept their tradition.

I've seen and been around the world, but this time in Caligari really hit different. Photos capture the existence of our reality, and our memories, forever.
