May 2021– Sinai Peninsula, Egypt

By Gal Houbara
If you are looking for a mellow vacation abroad, and on a low budget Sinai is just the place for that. The peninsula at the edge of Egypt, is inhabited by Bedouins, An ethnic group that does not recognize itself as Egyptian. After crossing the border from Israel to Egypt, we drove thourgh the coastline until our driver Eid, took us to The White Dune camp, not far from Nuweiba city. During the day you can stay at the beach or take a boat with one of the local men, to go snorkeling and gaze at the stunning reefs, or catch a few fish for dinner. A walk along the dune reveled some abandoned hotels and camps, places that use to host so many, and got affected by the lack of tourism. Before we left, we took a 5 min ride to Nuweiba's market, filled with local ceramics, rugs and souvenirs.
