BEFORE THE LIGHTNING STRIKES

Unabated bliss is most easily found at sea. At least in this instance, the Hudson River proved a worthwhile equal. Sailing around the contours of downtown Manhattan at sunset with your lady and best mates in tow evokes a feeling that is hard to jot on paper. Moody clouds gliding across the sky sporadically dissected by sunshine. A storm looms, and lightning strikes in the distance. Arriving at shore just before a heavy rain poured down provided relief and a realization of what “thrill” truly means. To view Manhattan from this vantage is a sight to be seen. Thanks to NYC Sailing Collective and Lucas Piran for setting our sail for a peaceful evening around the island on a river.
